Oh no, these things are grim. They have them in a shop near me and they make my stomach turn! Yuck!

fastasleep · 08/03/2006 23:16

My naaaame noooo

sheepgomeep · 08/03/2006 23:17

[shudder] That's so horrible.

It's very cleverly done and very very lifelike but there is absolutely no way I would put that in my house.

very weird..

Tanzie · 08/03/2006 23:18

Yes very creepy. I saw a similar one in an American magazine that "breathed realistically" as well.

Ugh.

LadySherlockofLGJ · 08/03/2006 23:18

LGJ sprints outside to vomit.

Pruni · 08/03/2006 23:18

OMG

  1. the 2nd pic looks like Michael Winner
  2. she says it's filled with baby fat and fleece - er, wot?
  3. comes with a birth certificate and spare pampers?

I do find this whole thing utterly utterly disturbing.

Skribble · 08/03/2006 23:19

OK I am officialy freaked out!!!!! and how much Shock

brimfull · 08/03/2006 23:19

That is the creepiest thing I've seen for a while.

She could have atleast had a smile on her face!

What are you supposed to do with it.Great for practical jokes though.

RTKangaMummy · 08/03/2006 23:19

Don't like that at all

Weird IMHO

QE2 · 08/03/2006 23:19

What are they - an ornament or doll or what? very lifelike but don't see the purpose of them - or did I miss something?

Who buys these? Obviously someone wants one a great deal, but who?

they are immensely skillful but.... I wouldn't touch one.

SuperTramp · 08/03/2006 23:23

I wonder who would want one. Very creepy indeed.

WideWebWitch · 08/03/2006 23:24

These are weird and ewwwwww. What kind of sad fk would want one fgs?

soapbox · 08/03/2006 23:24

It is horrific - I've often wondered what they are for - paedophilia perhaps - easier than using a real child to sell porn on the WWW???

Whatever, still Yuck! Yuck anyway!!!!

WellieMum · 08/03/2006 23:25

If you have your own baby, why would you want a fake one?

If you don't have your own baby, why would you want a fake one?

Errrrghhh.

Pruni · 08/03/2006 23:25

Well, if you hadn't for whatever reason been able to have children despite a desperate longing...or you'd lost your only child.
And you wanted one with hair held in with waterproof glue so you could wash it...
It chokes me up a bit tbh
THere but for the grace etc

WideWebWitch · 08/03/2006 23:26

There is something really creepy about this isn't there?

WideWebWitch · 08/03/2006 23:27

But Pruni, surely however griefstricken you were a fake baby isn't really going to help?

Pruni · 08/03/2006 23:28

??
Have no experience
but life is constantly teaching me that people are weirder than I think Grin

soapbox · 08/03/2006 23:28

Pruni - I can't imagine anyone thinking a fake baby could help with their longing for a real one - surely???

colditz · 08/03/2006 23:31

My great grandmother used to collect dolls - I imagine she would have cherished something like that one.

Maybe they are all for collecters - but why make their hair washable?

fastasleep · 08/03/2006 23:32

For close ups in movies when you can't use a real baby, in advertising shots, and sadly for people who can't let go of their lost child (I knew someone with one of these)

Pruni · 08/03/2006 23:33

Can you not? I can. I really can imagine how it might help.
