Quick question! How do you put lipstick on?

I'm going out tonight to a recognition dinner for Avon cosmetics. Having never used makeup myself I keep making a mess of it. I end up looking like Mrs Doyle off Father Ted. Any advise is gratefully received.

start at cupids bow (middle of top lip) go from one side to half way across the lip, then, go from the crease to meet up with the lipstick.

To do the bottom lip go from one side to the other in one clean sweep.

Blot afterwards with a tissue.

I usually apply 2 or 3 coats and blot after each one to get a more lasting application :)

Exfoliate lips with a soft toothbrush and moisturise (although should let it sink in for a few mins but guess you dono't have time?).

If it's a brightish colour line lips with similar coloured pencil or use a lip brush. Fill in colour, blot with tissue paper and apply again.

Think I've managed it. Very shakey hands don't help but I'm a bit nervous. The tissue was a wise move and I've managed two coast but didn't want to risk a third.

I don't have any other makeup. Just got this lipstick. No lip liner or brush.
