Has anyone got any home remedies to suggest for exorcising my dishwasher?
It is foul, slimy, mouldy: opening it is like the hounds of Hades breathing on us.
It's an oldish looking Bosch that the landlord won't let us replace because it would mean dismantling some of the fitted kitchen.
I:
Clean all the growing mouldy bits, twice so far, with a toothbrush. This seemed to give new vigour to the regrowth; Send it through a cleaning cycle every other day, with every product known to the high street, which takes the stench down to a hum for one wash; Use dishwashers deodoriser frangancer things; Despair.

Any advice welcome, I resent handwashing everything like mad.

Grin

honestly if you have tried everything then do that

One thought, do you use gel/liquid or powder/tablets. Gel/liquid does clog and get smelly in washing machines (so I learned on here and yes it was right)

replace if you can...
Or I could be all Anthea housewifey and recommend...
And singalong please if you dare

Remember to use baking soda
To eradicate any odour...

have you taken it apart completely? all the filters and everything?

Yes I've disassembled every piece, twice, and scraped all clean with toothbrushes, detergents and loathing. Will bicarb help the stench then? How much shall I add (as soon as I've finished in-folding my towels...)

We are going to talk to john lewis about their remove old dishwasher/install new one options this weekend so maybe this will be over soon...
