We were expecting a washing machine to be delivered between 9am and 1.30pm today but it did not arrive until 2.40pm with no apology. I have had to cancel my plans for the afternoon Angry

Yes I would but unfortunately that is becoming more and more the norm isn't it.

I usually get told "any time between 8 and 6". Like its a help!

Socci · 07/03/2006 15:29

I don't see the point of them specifying a time if they can't guarantee it. The drivers then sat in their lorry for 15 minutes before leaving - lazy buggers.

Annoyed? yes. Surprised? No.

Sorry for you, Socci.

usually I wouldn't be bothered but I am in a bad mood because dd2 keeps throwing her toys over the stair gate. She is really cross because she wants to go downstairs and see dd1 but she can't because she is doing her therapy.

name & shame socci...the purchasing power of MN will speak volumes

I'd be annoyed. If they say it will be between 9am and 1:30pm then it should be. If it's going to be delivered at 2:40pm then it should have been between 9am and 3pm.

OK, what do you do for a living? Or what did you do before children? Work out what your hourly rate is and send them an invoice! Include the cost of any tickets/lost opportunities/extra food. Make it out for 2 hours because you know if a plumber stayed 5 minutes over an hour slot he would charge you for two, so why shouldn't you do also, after all, it is accepted business practise.Wink

You probably won't get any money but you might get an apology and it will help channel some of the rage.

Appliance Deals - serves me right for using a little known company I guess. Will stick to Comet next time (mind you they weren't great either - they delivered a tumble drier here a couple of weeks ago and threw polystyrene all over our garden Angry
