Got all excited there - thought you were selling Discworld posters Grin. Oh well...

clerkKent · 07/03/2006 17:04

What can I tell DS(age 12) to get him to start on Discworld? Does he need to begin at the beginning / The Colour of Magic?

nemo1977 · 07/03/2006 17:09

lol not a discworld reader but thought you were selling posters too as DH is a huge fan and has met TP a couple of times.

Tortington · 08/03/2006 01:34

lucy5 · 08/03/2006 07:55

i have read quite a few discworld but not recently.

FoulOleRon · 08/03/2006 09:14

Buggrit I thought there were some freebies on offer.

Weatherwax · 08/03/2006 09:30

clerkKent why don't you start him on truckers or only you can save mankind? If he likes the humour in these you might find he will get on with the disc world books more. I always thought the amount of SF genrie reading I had already done prepared me for the colour of magic. As you can tell I like the witch stories(and carrot) best.

NomDePlume · 08/03/2006 09:34

I like the witch ones best, but DH likes the ones with the Guard (?) in

hunkermunker · 08/03/2006 09:36

I started with Mort and loved it - love ones with Death in!

NomDePlume · 08/03/2006 09:39

Death is v funny

Death's changed in character (got funnier and more buffoon-like) since The Light Fantastic - he was quite sinister in that one.
