mega mega toothache

I am in the worst pain with a broken wisdom tooth plus infection. Had this since Christmas Eve and has got progressively worse. Been to dentist and due to see the takey out of wisdom teeth person on Friday, yes FRIDAY!!! Was on antibiotics until they started making me vomit as of this morning and am now dosed up with Paracetamol and Codeine. Not allowed Nurofen anymore as after 3 months of taking th emax dose daily Dr has told me to stop as I have weirdy bruising thing going on.

Does anybody have any good ideas on how to cope with this? Especially tonight. Will A & E take it out for me, like NOW? I am seriously considering driving there as mumsnetting is no longer taking my mind off pain sufficiently!!!

ive heard that sambucca is pretty good rubbed on the gums........im not sure a dentist would recommend it though

It's unlikely that A&E will extract it for you as it has to be done by a dental surgeon (not many in A&E's now), however when I went (post extraction) they gave me a shot of pethidine in the bum (bliss - got some sleep) plus diclofenac. Like nurofen, I think this is an anti inflammatory, and despite me having to be careful about these kind of drugs dur to stomach problems I was told it would be ok for a couple of days to get me through.

What does concern me is the hideous screaming he is now doing when he wakes up.

yeah well half a sleep problem is easier to solve than a whole one innit so me gets to look good for Rich and Jude.

I have a couple of other people primed, so it's cool (whoah, think the codeine is making me sound like I am on acid, man!) but since you have made me laugh a few times on here I thought it might be fun and didn't want you to miss out since I had asked!

I don't know. I don't even know if they will be that fussy about it unless I picked a right numpty family. (Not sure what origin of numpty is so if offensive, like spazza and flid, which I would never use PLEASE forgive!)

Look, DP is a IT consultant. His speciality stuff is hardware and security (internet, networks etc). If MSN was remotely dodgy he wouldnt have it.

But he does, and uses it loads himself. Its as secure as using MN anyway. Just install it anyway

Just hijacking my own thread...

Disappeared off to A&E after your last post and came back with loadsa drugs. Didnt help with pain much but totally knocked me out. DP had fed and dressed the children and taken them to school the next morning before I knew anything about it. Haven't slept that well in ages!

So, do you fancy a visit from moi? Have now told Catus TV of my few possibles so am awaiting their response. Shall let you know...

I just got Codeine type stuff - not even at a high dose because I am a little, er, allergic to it. Was hoping for Pethidine as someone mentioned here.

Have consultants appointment on Friday so not too much more of this. It is super infected I think (broke tooth down to gum on Christams Eve and have been putting up with it ever since) which is all rather gross and feels like my jaw will explode soon.

How long have you been suffering Noddy and what is happening about it? Is yours Wisdom tooth too? sorry if you said already, my head is a bit whizzy spinny. Also just done a maternity night shift and should be in bed before the school run in umm... half an hour - OH bum!

I had a root canal which has gone wrong cracked infected and need tooth out but dentist won't do it til infection has gone I am on 3rd lot of antibiotics so fingers crossed

Hope I on't have to wait as Dentist told me there are no other antibio's I can take eek!

oh i have really bad toothache too.
besides the fact i am shit scared of the dentist i aint even atteoting the visit with 3 kids in tow- 1 @ 4 and 2 yr old twins
