Who does the ironing in your house?

Spent most of yesterday evening behind a huge pile of ironing while DH watched telly. Never went near the ironing board before children, now I'm never away from it... help! I even iron vests, though not knickers (I'm not insane). Who irons and what do you iron?

No-one.....

LadySherlockofLGJ · 06/03/2006 11:34

I send it out.

CountessDracula · 06/03/2006 11:35

dh does his shirts every so often or we send them away to be ironed

I pay my mum to do if she is around

or it gets done as and when we need something

GDG · 06/03/2006 11:35

Me. If I'm really snowed with work then dh does his own shirts and will iron the kids' stuff. Otherwise, I don't mind it - put a CD on and I'm away!

cod · 06/03/2006 11:35

and if dh is watching telly mkae him do his own
god do we really have to tell you this?

SorenLorenson.

Cod - why does your dh need 30 shirts for two weeks??

zippitippitoes · 06/03/2006 11:36

we use a tumble drier and only iron if going out so hardly ever

Amelily · 06/03/2006 11:36

Can't stop the vest ironing thing! Though sure I will when I go back to work, dds will be permanently creased then.

Me. It always seems to be the maid's day off when it needs doingWink

NotActuallyAMum · 06/03/2006 11:36

I do all the ironing - DP can't iron. Not complaining though, it's the only household chore he doesn't do

I don't iron underwear of any description but can't think of anything else I don't do

compo · 06/03/2006 11:37

don't do any iroing here. Just hang clothes up straight out of washing machine and no ironing required

LadyTophamHatt · 06/03/2006 11:37

Blu...I thought that too?
30 shirts in 2 weeks......is he a sweaty betty?

GDG · 06/03/2006 11:37

Amelily - do you iron tea towels and socks too? Please say no!

Amelily · 06/03/2006 11:37

Can you read Cod? Don't do dh's ironing, don't do his washing either...and he cooks tea every other night. Only asking about kids' clothes.

Amelily · 06/03/2006 11:38

OP posts:
Blu · 06/03/2006 11:38

In our house we do not iron bedding, underwear, jeans, casual t shirts or tops, we only have a few things that HAVE to be ironed, I do mine, DH does his, or the cleaner does it.

LadyTophamHatt · 06/03/2006 11:38

no actually I mean mean too......I think..

oh fuckit...whatever....

cod · 06/03/2006 11:38

well if ti bothers you then stp doing it

zippitippitoes · 06/03/2006 11:39

I think tea towels do work better if ironed, do your kids clothes really need ironing though if shaken and folded or hung from the laudry

CountessDracula · 06/03/2006 11:39
