I'm not sure exactly but your DH is well off 200ml and 2 mins that's hardly enough time to steam.

Go on there website and you can download intructions I think.

madmarchhare · 05/03/2006 18:00

200ml sounds right but wasnt it 4 mins?

heymammy · 05/03/2006 18:01

looks like you're both a bit right!

Instructions on mine say 200ml of water and 7 mins (for up to 750watt microwaves)

Ah, the joys of sterilising

Does \link{http://www.avent.com/uk/en/sterilisers_microwave_steriliser.php\this} help?

depends on your microwave wattage. we formula fed dd1. had an 800 watt microwave, and it was 6 mins. w/two mins steam time afterwards. NEVER 2 mins. no way!

lionhearted · 05/03/2006 18:34

800 watts 5 minutes 200mls (sez so on instructions!)

lexiemum · 05/03/2006 18:44

How old is the baby?

lexiemum · 05/03/2006 20:22

shes 5mths now and our second.

argument occurred this pm when dh produced a bottle i'd sterilised saying i damaged it by putting it in microwave for too long - hence asking q here. he was convinced it was only 2mins and , as usual, with all our arguments won't accept he can be wrong.

i've melted bottles when mummy brain took over and forgot water but this one was just scratched - which to be honest they are all a bit like that as only have 8 on the go and obviously are having lots of use.

so i was right - 7oz(200ml), 7mins in our 750watt microwave.

will be doing all the bottles now as he'll still believe what he does is right.

Ours was 8 mins on whatever wattage we had then - not sure - so 7 sounds about right!

SoupDragon · 06/03/2006 09:54

200ml water, 5mins 850w/8 mins under 850w
