Anyone know how to make robin wrapping paper?

A couple of days ago I picked up a Christmas activity book in our house and one of the activities was making robin wrapping paper. Now a wet Friday afternoon looms and of course the book has completely disappeared in the abyss of junk that fills our house.

Anyone got this book or has made this stuff and can explain what to do? If I have one more 'Mummy what can I do?' after school today the chances are none of us will have a Christmas this year anyway ......

Thanks

Erm... brown thumbprint as base, white fingerprint followed by small red fingerprint for breast bit, draw on eyes, beak & wings with felt pen. Do this all over a large piece of paper. You could make the thumbprint shapes out of potato prints instead? Remember to wait for the paint to dry between colours!

Does this sound right?

That sound exactly right Soupdragon. Thanks so much! Sanity shall be restored ....!

Is it the Usborne Christmas Activities book?? Its fab, we have done loads out of it. If it is then they suggest cutting a carrot into four pieces, chucking away the smallest piece and using the other pieces in the way that soupdragon has suggested.
