I'm trying to do a newsletter and want to insert a little picture to the left and then have text starting to the right of it and running down the side and then below as normal IYSWIM. I can't get the text to move up - it'll only start right at the bottom of the picture.

Does anyone know how to do this??

Thanks v much!

I think you have to put the text in a text box. But I'm not an expert Grin

Will it then wrap under the picture though?

I need it to look like this:

picture text..............................
picture text...............................
picture text...............................
text.............................
text........................................
text........................................

Double-click on the inserted picture. A control bar for pictures will come up. Near the right-hand side, there's a little icon of a dog, surrounded by horizontal lines. Click on that. Choose "square", which is the first option.

I don't know why it doesn't default to "square". Stupid program.

No text box needed or wanted.

MS word is not the best programme to do a newsletter in.

I'd use publisher personally.

At the bottom of your Word page is a bar with the text box icon on it ('A' in top corner and lines around it. Select this and draw the box for your picture. The highlight the text, go to the Draw menu (bottom left of page) and select Text Wrapping. Choose either Square or tight, depending on how you want your text wrapped and voila! HTH

Right click on the picture
Go to format picture
Go to Layout tab
Change the wrapping style from in line with text – default – to something else – probably square is what you want.
Check the Horizontal Alignment button left.

Should do as you want now.
