Have you tried putting an ice cube on it? I think it might freeze it and then you will be able to pick it off.

That is the exact reason why my kids were never allowed to play with playdough at my old house!

don't use an icecube as it will make it wet and therefore more gloopy, even if frozen (if that makes sense).
sacrifice a packet of peas wrapped in a teatowel. leave it on there for a good half an hour so it is properly frozen but dry, and then try and pick it off.

you can always make soup with the now mostly defrosted packet of peas!

We had it (also purple) on a pale greenyblue carpet - let it dry and brushed as much out as possible..this left a 'colour stain', got the stain out using Pampers babywipes!!
(We only do playdough in the kitchen now )

thank you - will try the peas later today (near supper time))

just so you know, they aren't ALLOWED to do playdough in the bedroom (where it is). It's just that they don't obey the rules, most of the time. Is it just me?!

\link{http://freerangechildcare.blogspot.com/2006/02/play-dough-in-my-bra-under-fives.html\This} is why I have banned the stuff - for another week or so anywayGrin

Playdough washes out really easily with just plain water. Pick out what you can first. Been there, done that....
