Our playgroup takes children from 2yrs 6mths even if the child is still in nappies. Others take potty-trained children only and from 2yrs 9mths. If your little one is too young, Mums & Tots groups are a good idea.

Our pre-school is the same - it takes children from 2years + 6 months. It's OK if they are still in nappies - but they won't change a dirty nappy - they ring the parent who has to go and change it, which seems fair enough to me.

nikki19, my dd has just started going to a toddler group at a church,(well based in a church hall) She's 2.8 but has grown up with 2 cousins so i haven't rushed to groups! Anyway, i was a bit wary, but she loves it and i sit and have a coffee with other mams! Wish i'd done it sooner! Good luck Oh my friend has a 8 week old boy and he goes to a mother and toddler group already..so i guess it's different strokes
