ebay & post office query???

I hope someone knows more than me about this. any help would be appreciated

so basically, brought something on ebay and seller sent items via recorded/special delivery. however it did not arrive. she tracked it and it was signed for. have also asked my neighbours and they have not received anything. seller has requested 'signature certificate' from the post office and will take 5 days.

so what happens when seller receives the certificate and its not my signature?? does that mean i then need to take it up with the post office and the seller is no longer responsible ???

anyone have any ideas would be great. I'm really annoyed that this has happened and that someone has got my parcel.

The post office should be able to find out where it was left as well as who signed for it. Trouble is, people don't always print their name and it may not be possible to make out their signature. The postman should have left you a card to tell you where it was.

AFAIK, its not the sellers responsibility as they have posted it and someone has signed for it. Its now down to the PO to chase it up or for them to give you the info so you can track it down. Good luck.

If the seller can prove that they really did send it recorded delivery then it probably isn't their responsibility (make sure you get proof of posting from her as it will help your case). As a gesture of goodwill I expect she will try to help you find parcel but it is Royal Mail's fault - not hers. You will have to claim compensation from them - which she may sort out and reimburse you. I think it is a grey area when deciding who's responsibilty it is to sort out.

with reimbursement from royal mail the sender has to sort it out not the receiver, as the sender is the one with the contract. so i'm afraid you will be waiting for her to process the calim and then relying on her for the refund!
