A refuge from all the flaming sport! I will be ironing to it later on!

But the best is Singin' in the Rain

I also like to iron to the Song of Bernadette and the Nuns Story. Nothing like a convent for putting some starch in your Wimple.

Love this film. Have it on DVD. DH and dd1 (8) love it also....

Calamity Jane is on tomorrow...

bran · 25/02/2006 16:02

I'm so pleased that I'm not the only person on MN to have this on DVD, doesn't Howard Keel have magnificent lungs. I particularly like the parts where all the brothers dance together, especially the barn raising one, as they are fine specimens of manhood. I still have daydreams about being whisked off to a log cabin in remote mountains by my very own rugged, but soft-hearted, mountain man. [sigh]

The only big let down of the film is that it's so 'studio', it's a pity the budget didn't stretch to filming outside. Perhaps there's a re-make opportunity there, do you think Howard Keel is still up the part? (Is he even still alive?)

Lucycat · 25/02/2006 16:15

I think Howard Keel died quite recently didn't he?

Mt dd1 (5.9)has just been sobbing at this! she's a sensitive soul!

Love it, love it, love it! I had to phone 3 other friends who also love it so we could all down tools for the afternoon and watch it.

I was given the Sound of Music DVD with singalong option for Christmas .

BonyM · 25/02/2006 16:57

Tommy - you have to remind your ds's who is in charge .

BonyM · 25/02/2006 16:57

This has been my most favourite film for as long as i can remember. So much so that my mum taped over my copy because i watched it so much and it did her head in.
Now dd1 is addicted too.
