How do I calculate mileage rate for babysitter?

I must stop calling her a babysitter. DCs are 11 and 7 now Smile
She takes the DCs out sometimes and will do more during the summer and I want to pay her for mileage but don't know what would be a sensible rate. Her car is 1.2l.

TIA

The normal rate for nannies is 45p I think. You can pay less if you want of course but that tends to be the standard.

45p a mile is the normal rate paid in business environments.

It actually costs 45p/mile to run my car (anorak on car costs), but my car is exceptionally expensive to run. If your money is tight I would offer her 30-40 instead.

Our accountant says that 45p per mile is the current rate.
