HelP! I've lost the Freeview remote!

Haven?t seen it since this morning. Looked in all the obvious places (under sofa cushions, under sofa, down the back of the TV), the less obvious places (dh's dressing gown pocket, back of the loo, my handbag, fridge, car, toybox, inside shoes...) I've been through the bins and the recycling box... I've run out of ideas. Why do these things not have paging devices like cordless phones?
Any suggestions as to where it could possibly be welcome. Failing that, does anyone happen to know whether you can just buy a new remote on its own? Or if there is any way of tuning in to CBeebies without the remote? (trouble is, it's currently stuck on Channel 5, which isn't terribly useful!)

In the wash basket or the washing machine/tumble dryer..
My son has a habit of putting things on the back of his pushalong baby walker, like a parcel shelf!

Frieda, our Sky box has buttons on the front that you can use when the remote disappears (as ours has at the moment - we do have one of those 6-in-1 remotes that works everything, including satellite, but all the buttons don't match so it's not perfect) - does Freeview have those so you can at least track through the channels?

If not then I'm sure you must be able to buy a new remote - try here (it says Freeview at the top!) Worth getting one even if the lost one turns up.

Thanks everyone ? esp popsycal and janh. I'm a bit embarrassed (but relieved) to say it's just turned up inside an empty video case (Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles ? so I think I know who's to blame!). Really grateful for your helpful suggestions tho ? sure it won't be the first time it goes awol!

Hi Frieda - I lost our Cable remote the other day, and after weeks of having to scroll the buttons, we found it - by having 12 children under 4 over. We always find things by just having loads of kids over to play and they invariably find things we thought were lost forever! Worth a try anyway!

I'd rather buy a new remote meself
