vinegar to descale kettle

Hi
I know this is probably an inane question but i have a le crueset kettle, rather new, and need to descale it already!!! I have read that many people used vinegar on electric kettles but does this work on a stove top one too???
If it is ok which vinegar is best???

never worked for me, just buy kettle descaler

thx 2shoes...just worried as its an enamel kettle...any particular descaler??

Never worked for me either.... Unlike bicarb of soda and vinegar for blocked drains - that is genius

le creuset says 'a gentle de-scaler may be used periodically, if required'

whatever they mean with 'gentle'...
