Horrible new look Hotmail, what's going on?

I was irritated to find that bluddy Microsoft wouldn't let me into my Hotmail inbox yesterday unless I downloaded the new MSN Messenger. So I did and it now lets me read my messages but doesn't seem to be sending any text with my messages out to people, despite the fact that I do type text. What am I doing wrong? Anyone know?

Janh, if you're reading this, my email to you (which came out blank I gather) asked for your address again since I've lost it. Just tried to send you a note and photo again but it wouldn't work. Grrrr.

And I've just received a completely blank message from someone on Hotmail so I don't think it's just me.

Have you looked at the super corporate movie on the "learn about the great new changes" link on the hotmail home page?

But it sounds like they've cocked up - the only solution would be to wait or get a proper email address. I can help with that if you like, but most of the domains we have are either corporate or silly ([email protected]? ). Otherwise I would recommend www.e-mailanywhere for their reliability (tech support useless though). I may remember another one.

Oh, www, did you get my reply this morning? Yours was blank but had the attachment, but the attachment link only appeared after I clicked on "reply", and then it told me to click on "browse" but all I got was a list of Word documents and it wasn't there. Pootle. And grrrr.

Yes, Janh, I got it but I hadn't sent an attachment, just text but then you got a blank message. The other blank email I received (from someone else) looked as if it had an attachment but there was nothing there when I clicked on it. You're right senora, they're tossers and I should just get a proper email address. Hmm, the bigarse bit is fairly accurate though!
