Tamba, have you tried the Ectoipc Pregnancy website www.ectopic.org? Lots of ladies on there have been treated with it & have shared their experiences. There is also general info on there.I understand that it is given to stop cells growing.

I hope that you are ok.?

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 21/02/2006 21:56

She will be fine. It is very early and totally unexpected, although is shocked. Thank you for your thoughts.

My mum took it for several months, Tamba. I think CountessDracula might have taken it too. My mum had a lot of sickness with it to be honest, but I know several other people who have tolerated it very well.

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 21/02/2006 22:40

Thanks Tatum

I have read some horror stories about it!

Bad cramps, so get some cocodamol in
Some heavy bleeding which can come on quite suddenly at first. Also a really bad headache, hot water bottle helped the tummy pains.
This is for the ectopic pregnancy right Tamba?
They will keep a close eye on her following as there have been some instances lately of the drug failing to "delete" the pregnancy and ending up in ruptured tubes
Me for instance...
I was very early too only 3 days post af due...
Good luck for your friend
Through the Ectopic Trust I know lots odf women who have little side effects.
I am quite drug sensitive apparently...

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 21/02/2006 23:33

Thanks piffle.

How long do the side affects last?

Piffle · 22/02/2006 09:34

Depends how many shots you need. I had 4 others have had more, some people do not get bleeding for several weeks
I think mine was complicated as it was at the narrow lower end of the tube - it ruptured more easily.

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 22/02/2006 09:35

Thanks. and bump

Thats a great site, thanks piffle.

She is going to the doctors this afternoon for blood tests and hopefully a definate course of treatment as the not knowing (the doctor suspects but cant confirm as it is really early) is driving her mad, especialy as she is feeling sick and tired and just wants it all over.

OP posts:
Piffle · 22/02/2006 12:43

She should insist on a tv (internal)scan as well, or even submit to a laproscopic diagnosis,
Sometimes bloods can be wrong, I think very recently on the ET website, there was a message about not relying on bloods alone.
I hope she is ok
