Also there was a crack in the wall in the airing cupboard and I have filled and sanded it and it is completely unnoticeable now.Is this bad?

IIRC you don't need to be there... I certainly didn't show him any paperwork. But obviously they need to be able to get in!

Esate agents have keys so I am going out as they will be here 4 hours! Why?

4 hours, that's ages! I thought they just had a quick look around...but that was a 1 bedroom flat...You must have a massive house then

no a 3 bed 3 storey semi I have sold a few places in the past and it usually takes about an hour which is why I am so worried!Hence all the posts

For a 4 bed valuation survey they wer in it for 10 mins - 15 mins total if you count the outside too.

This must be a more detailed survey!

LIZS · 21/02/2006 16:33

No they don't need bills or anything. He is out to assess what eh sees and finds. don't balme you re crack. If you have any written guarantees make sure the EA knows so they can head off any queries. A full structural survey may well take longer so they can climb up into roof space etc and poke around with torch.

noddyholder · 21/02/2006 20:25

Thanks everyone I have had a couple of glasses of wine and have stopped worrying it's just whe EA said 4 hours i couldn't believe it.BTW we have no roof space as it is a new house and the third floor is 2 bedrooms and always has been uit is not a conversion so god knows what he will do or all that time Tahnks for you replies

no they said a full survey takes 4 hours and now I have to stay in as the pharmacy lost my prescription for my heart meds and I can't really walk anywhere without them!
