what's the quietest washing machine?

why don't they say how noisy they are, like they do with dishwashers?

are miele really that much better than bosch? are they worth the money?

Miele are fab! Mine is over seven years old now, it cost £750 I think, so far it has cost just over £100 a year. I have friends who have had two or three washing machines in the last seven years so I am happy, good washing results and relatively quiet.

i just bought a Bosch WFO 2467 and it is very quiet....no too expensive either. i have my washing machine installed upstairs and so i really do notice how much quieter it is. the old one used to vibrate the walls when it went into spin.

this one is so quiet i keep checking it to see if its actually on.

MrsSpoon · 20/02/2006 21:11

This looks like the new version of mine and it is cheaper than it was seven years ago too.

My old Bosch was quiet, lasted 7-8 years and cost c £300. My new Bosch is even quieter and cost £240. How much quieter can a Miele be for the extra £500?

A few in John Lewis too with a bit of blurb about the life expectancy of a Miele appliance.

ooh it's looking good for bosch so far! lol

Mine is the same as queenrollo's - 2467 - mine was a bit cheaper than this (special offer) but you get Nectar points from Sainsburys

It is a 6kg drum too and washes very well.

goldstarlover · 20/02/2006 21:43

oooh nectar points! excellent!

We have a Miele washer-dryer and it's quiet. We bought it 7 years ago, about £1000.

goldstarlover · 20/02/2006 22:43

i am not sure if i can justify the miele prices

JanH · 20/02/2006 22:53

Miele are EXTREAMLY quiet...... very exepensive, but are expected to last for 20+ years so are also a good investment in the long run
