Maybe it is best to just trust the ones you know?

Sad really, used to be able to trust and beleive most MNetters

Discuss?

But how long do you have to have been on here to be classed as an old timer? And does old timer refer to length of time on MN or your age???

Turquoise · 19/02/2006 18:35

What 's been going on then?
Wish there was a section for argy bargy threads, save me looking through for anything with over a couple of hundred posts (or just doing a search on Cod )

doormat · 19/02/2006 18:36

there has always been namechangers (only done it once for legal reasons to do with my ds2)

I find it a bit hypocritical when some of the main namechangers start complaining about other namechangers

expatinscotland · 19/02/2006 18:36

id trust me, too, cuz i never namechange and i can take the heat.

Beetroot · 19/02/2006 18:37

there is funname changeing and nasty stuff doormat!

OP posts:
doormat · 19/02/2006 18:39

I agree beety, between the fun and nasty
but some people on here can be nasty on here without changing there name (me being one of them)

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 19/02/2006 18:39

I've never 'trusted' and 'believed' most mumsnetters (or any posters on any of the forums I use). I start of distrusting, and build up my trust as time goes on. Call me a cynic but there's far too many con artists on the web for my liking/

Beetroot · 19/02/2006 18:40

i dont change my name either doormat. i cont give a toss.

OP posts:
doormat · 19/02/2006 18:42

neither do I beety, i dont give a shit what people think of me
and if I have something to say will say it.

HQQ but I find you on the defensive all the time, and dont take that personally but find it a trait of yours.

deegward · 19/02/2006 18:43

Been here since around July 2001, so old timer I think

JennyLee · 19/02/2006 18:43

I don't change my name either

expatinscotland · 19/02/2006 18:44

i've never given a fat rat's arse what people thought of me so long as they weren't my boss at the mo' - i've gotta pay rent and eat, after all.

spacecadet · 19/02/2006 18:45

i dont change my name. im not afraid to say something and have people know its me.

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 19/02/2006 18:46

lol - depends on which threads you read. If you choose to read only the ones with 'heavy' content (where in many cases I'm one of only a small number of the thread with that view - and in those cases usually the only one prepared to debate my side) you'll see my 'defensive' side (just like the others on the thread if it's a 'heavy' topic will be on the 'defensive' too......

mummytosteven · 19/02/2006 18:47

I think it's usually a good test of when you're going OTT - that if you aren't prepared to say it in your own name, you shouldn't say.

LadyTophamHatt · 19/02/2006 18:48

The only times I've changed my name is to ask an embarrassing/awkward question about something going on with me.
Which is wierd really because I've only met a handful of you so why would you care if I have a spotty bum or had nookie when I should be more careful??

How very strange....don't think I'll bother in future.

spacecadet · 19/02/2006 18:48

hi mts, got some new batteries in my mouse now

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 19/02/2006 18:50

I guess im classed as an old timer, Ive been here well over a year now.

intergalacticwalrus · 19/02/2006 18:52

Yes, I have done personla name changes myself, as one of my best friends is a MNer. However, I think I have told her everything that I have posted here under a pseudonym, so name changing was a pointless exercise.
