How do you interpret dreams? I need to hear sensible opinions.

Firstly, I know that weird dreams are quite common in pregnancy.
Secondly, IME dreams are brought on by something that I've seen, heard watched on tv etc that day or days beforehand.

However

Since last Sunday I have had 3 dreams about dh having an affair.

The first one I saw the woman, a very clear face and I can still picture her now.
I woke up crying after that one.

The second I can't remember too well.

The third, dh was away and called me saying he was very drunk and had slept with someone.

These dreams have really upset me. One of the main reasons is that my little theory about something triggering the dream off hasn't worked this time.

Can anyone shed a bit of "normal" light on this and stop my mind wandering?

NBG..To me it will be a insecurity type thing, i had lots of very upsetting dreams while pregnant with my dd, problems with the baby and husband cheating type of dreams...enough to make me wake up crying still...awful.

xx

Agree about it being insecurity related. Perhaps because your body is changing etc its been on your mind.

It may also be possible that after your first, more upsetting dream, it has since been troubling you hence a further 2 dreams about it.

I suppose that makes sense.

Dh is going away in April but it's not bothering me in the slightest so that can't be it.

VVV, Sensible logic about the further 2 dreams. It makes sense.

It's just so upsetting. I hate it.

WR, again that is a sensible way of seeing it.

Isn't it bizzare how your mind works.

You have a very rational way of thinking WR.

Oooh that's very interesting. I have recurring dreams about having to use a toilet in a public place (ie a large public room with a toilet in the middle of it), or one without a door on it. They are invariably filthy dirty as well. I often wonder what that says about me. (I have no hang-ups about public toilets in RL, I hasten to add).

Nbg · 18/02/2006 21:16

Well I'm watching Love Actually atm, which isn't really helping.

I may find something more suitable though

Miaou, don't those dreams end well then

OP posts:
Miaou · 18/02/2006 21:26

Not well, no

I think it's all to do with social embarrassment possibly.

Nbg · 18/02/2006 21:29

See I would never look at it like that.

OP posts:
Miaou · 18/02/2006 21:30

Dare I ask how you would look at it, NBG?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 18/02/2006 21:31

Miaou!

I have the toilet with no door dream all the time!!!!!!

Nbg · 18/02/2006 21:32

I'd think wahey!

I'm gorgeous and everyone wants me

OP posts:
Miaou · 18/02/2006 21:38

That's weird VVV - I have to say from reading a lot of your posts I think we are quite similar in character (hope that doesn't freak you!). Does the social embarrassment/social failure interpretation work for you too?

Miaou · 18/02/2006 21:40

NBG - pmsl

Of course everyone is going to fancy you after they have watched you going for a dump....

Nbg · 18/02/2006 21:43

LOL
It was the dirty filthy bit I picked up on but you could have quite easily meant it as dirty filthy public toilets dirty

Yes, it does a bit Miaou.

Hence i spend alot of time 'socialising' on the internet

Miaou · 18/02/2006 21:45

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, I meant the toilets were filthy dirty, not the dream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Miaou · 18/02/2006 21:47

(Not analysing you VVV, honest!! (though I do have a degree in psychology ) - just a lot of things you say strike a chord with me. And I can keep my paranoid thoughts to myself online )

VeniVidiVickiQV · 18/02/2006 21:51

Although, i think i read somewhere that the unable to find a toilet in privacy means that you are wanting to unload some issues from the past but feel unable to..............
