Bed under window - good thing or bad thing?

Hiya

We're (hopefully) moving to a house with bay windows this summer and I'd like to put our bed in the bay for a bit of drama. Thought I'd have thermal roller blinds at the actual windows and lots of net curtains around the head of the bed, like mosquito netting.

Have noticed that you don't see this much though so I wondered if there's something fundamentally 'wrong' about sleeping so close to a window, even with double glazing.

What are your experiences?

My bed is under our window (which isn't double glazing) and I don't mind it, I don't find it gets cold. We have tried putting our bed in a few different places in the room, but have agreed it looks best under the window. Besides its such a small room, our choice is limited!

I would love to have our bed under the window, imagine how nice and cool it will be in summer when its boiling, all you have to do is open two windows and hopefully you will get a through draught.
