shiny show...... do you hate it?

it is the most irritating thing i have EVER seen... argh it makes me want to cry and scream and tear my skin off...

but a question... does anyone's child actually play along? do they indeed, "give themselves a shiny"?

and what's with the weird songs... eyes and ears and mouth and brain
give yourself a pat on the side? wtf?

dd2 gives herself a shiney, and tells dd1 each time that she won. dd2 is very competative

Was thinking this today, when I turned on CBeebies at whatever bl**dy time it happens to be on.

Do I hate it? With a passion! Utter bo**ocks!!!!

Luckily DD and DS also don't like it, so we turned it off, and put on a Thomas the Tank Engine DVD instead

It's bluddy awful.
Obnoxious puppets,
Bluddy stupid songs.
Give yourself a shiny and give yourself a pat on the "front" - sexual undertones.
Hate the theme tune, hate the amount of times they show it hate they show the damn thing at all.
I turn over to Playhouse disney.

Yes, indeed, DS has the shinies lined up from the off...has loved it since he was v tiny. I like it too, for it's complete lack of over-production.

Ds has always liked this from early age, one of the first favourites

Sue from Cbeebies does the voice of one of them- Tigs I think. So she'll be alright for money if/when she leaves!

Profoundly irritating and agree with MM re dodgy lyrics. The sort of thing my mother would condemn as 'common' and, God help me, I think I'm getting to the age where I'm starting to agree!

Not half as bad as the blasted Fimbles though. First up against the world when the revolution comes, if I have any say in it. Then when I've picked them off, I'll go for the Tweenies. Then it's a tough call between the Shiny Show or Sarah Jane from Tikkabilla....

Oh yes,I hate the Shiny show too.My next contender for most annoying show is Doodle -do.Arghhh.I loathe it & had its stupid theme song in my head all of Thursday afternoon.

my children and I used to play "the shiney show" for some weird reason - they thoroughly enjoyed it a couple of years ago but more because i think we took the piss becuse they're older

We've now progressed onto young childrens books with alternative story lines ie. Pinocchio has a swearing habit that makes his nose grow, the wolf doesnt want to eat the three little piggies but only wants their prada shoes etc

awful. have never watched it with either of my two, but the little boy in the next bed watched it for most of Sunday when dd was in hospital and it drow us bot mad!
