After i posted on monday ina loved up mood after flowers from dh and a weekend away to look forward to....sods law kicked in.
Ds2 (aged 2) started vomiting on monday night and proceeded to vomit approx every hour through the night and the following morning.i have never seen him so poorly.this came out of nowhere.he had been fine all day.So lunchtime tuesday i phoned the gp for advice and they said to bring him.when we got there the gp sent us up to the local hospital where he was admitted.they spent tuesday night trying to get fluids into him.he stopped vomiting about 10.00pm and went the night without another one.
wednesday morn, it all started again. his blood sugar was low and finally they decided to put him on on a drip. This was horrid to watch but he didn't care by this point-he was so lethargic and sleepy he didn't murmur. anyway it did the trick and he was discharged this afternoon.
he's now drinking quite happily and pooing like a newborn baby- very yellow, odourless liquid which is accompanied by amazing sound effects!
Dh has just had to go to work to make up for not being there all day and we have (obviously) had to cancel our romantic weekend.sigh.
i am so tired! two nights sleeping (or not) next to ds's bed on a put -u -up, are taking thier toll!
That and the mad clean i have had to do this evening because a homecare nurse is coming out to see him tomorrow!
Just thought i'd come on here and vent.
What a week. i never want to see him like that again.poor little thing.

Oh you poor thing. Glad your DS is on the mend. You would rather be sick ten times over then watch them so poorly really wouldn't you?

Hope you are just tired and not coming down in sympathy.

SorenLorensen · 17/02/2006 10:14

alexsmum - go steady with the sandwiches. Ds2 has had this too (not admitted to hospital, thankfully) but has been more ill than I have ever seen either of my kids. He was at the explodey yellow poo stage on Wednesday, he seemed to perk up a lot yesterday and had an appetite again..was eating some dinner last night (only home made vegetable soup) and he suddenly went "I feel sick"...and was. Lots. I don't think his tummy was ready for too much food really.

Hope you're OK too.

lavenderfraggle · 18/02/2006 08:26

sounds horrible hope things get back to normal soon

alexsmum · 18/02/2006 08:50

didn't manage to get back on here yesterday because i spent all day changing nappies!
he did 8 dirty nappies of the yellow variety!
although he asked for the sandwich he only ate a tiny bit.he's just eating tiny little bits, but at least he's drinking.
he going from seeming normal and playing to suddenly seeming worn out and lying his head on my lap.
i was sick 7 times yesterday and ran a fever of 101 all day.i just hope ds1 and dh don't catch it now.
