Anyone used Ancestry.com?

I'm thinking of signing up for the 14 day trial and getting as much info as poss before having to sign up and pay (I'm not going back after maternity leave so can't justify the £9 pcm.)

Is it even possible just to use the trial and not get sucked in to paying the fees?

Or is there an equally good free site?

I got sucked in... DS was tiny at the time and I spent about 23 hours of every day on the sofa in front of the PC, so figured: why not?

You can just use the trial I think. TBH I found the search pulled up far too many results to be helpful and ended up using the FreeBMD site a lot of the time as a cross-reference. Maybe start there...
