I've just spent 2 hours trying to get on the internet! Sometimes it will let me onto Google and I can search for stuff, but I can't click on other sites, it comes up as 'introuvable'. I've virus checked it all and nothing came up. It's been playing up a bit anyway, not registering when I click on things. This morning the sound went, then pages froze, then the internet went dead. If I did get on, I just got Google. Anyone out there know what's going on? I only got the pc in August and it's been a Godsend, I NEED my pc! Can any kindly doctor tell me how to fix it please?

Is it ok for use other than the net

what browser are you using

Fine for other stuff. Am using neuf.telecom, a French telecom company, most of the people round here have it.

I can't open the link! I managed to get onto the homepage of www.stop-sign.com, a virus checker, but I can't download their virus checker. Am pretty certain it is a virus now, this site is very slow and I can't think of any other reason why it should be acting up like this.

Just shown this to my dh who knows something about computers. He thinks you may have a hardware problem, specifically the computer memory. As you purchased the computer in August you should be able to get support directly from wherever you purchased the computer from/the manufacturer. Good luck.

Thanks, just managed to download a free virus checker which is working now. If I can't find a virus then I'll have to take it back to where I got it from, which means a couple of weeks sans pc and I need it to finalise arrangements with my sister who is visiting next weekend!

Hmmm, virus scanner told me that the pc was infected which I could fix if I bought their product, but the files it was pointing to contained 'possible spyware' and were just cookies. I've deleted all my cookies and now the internet is running fine. Too early to breathe with relief just yet!
