How long does it take for a new birth certificate to come through?

I have lost mine, and need it for a passport, need it for May, obviously cant send off for passport before birth certificate comes through. Please tell me I'v not left it too late

go into registry office and they'll do you one there and then for about £7.
just got a full one done for dd.

renewal passports cost £51 and would advise to send asap, we've just had ours done and they said they are geting busy. we also paid £7 each for the post office to check and send them and they were back in the week!(they normally say 2 weeks if you pay post office)

oh and when you have your piccy done, sit right back against the back wall, we had to get two lots done as our heads were too big..weve spent a flipping fortune!

LOL @ heads being too big, I have 4 passports to get, 2 of which are for dts aged 2, so that will be fun trying to get them to stay still for the pictures.

i think places like bus stations and some post office actually take a picture for you instead of going into a booth, so that may be batter for the little ones?HTH
