Do any Mumsnetters live in either Whitstable or Rye ? Am interested in them as a possible place to move to. What are they like to live in- schools etc ?? I used to spent holidays in Tankerton as a little girl and remember the pebbly beaches (with the roast peanut and toffee apple seller) and Valenti's ice cream parlour.

We lived in Whitstable many moons ago. It was nice then and I've read recent articles that its now an up-and-coming place to live, outside London! We often went to Rye, always loved it but haven't visited the place for years.

Don't miss the teashop in Rye which has a notice saying 'We do not cater for the needs of young children'.
