I can just envisage my future dreams of self indulgent holidays to myself being tainted by childcare requests. See it happen to older staff at work.

Going to have to be a tight aunt and granny methinks.

i would feel bad about asking you to do it everyday of the holidays and if you are away it would be impossible but my sil is in your position and we have asked her on occasions and we do give her some money for outings, food whatever but i wouldnt ask her to do it everyday just on the days we struggle to find anyone else. im a sahm now so its not so much of an issue but i am going to ask her to do a couple of days in the easter hols so i can attend a training course for my evening job (if i get it)

holidays from teaching are a bit of a myth - well in our household anyway! DH works for most of half term, christmas and easter hols, takes about 3 weeks off in the summer.
