What car seat does your 2 stone or above child have and would u recommend it and how muchis it?

DS1 curently has broitax ranger and i am not happy with it and didn't score well on which tests either. Can't afford alot (well nothing really but his safety comes first) so looking for an alternative.

Just been through this dilema myself!

My DS1 is 2stone and 2.4yrs old. He is the right height for an older car seat. I am awaiting the Maxi Cosi Rodi XP. It did very well in tests. Don't buy from Mothercare(£90!), try kiddicare(£85), or at cheapest ToysRUs had it with £20 off down to £69 (I think)

HPH!

Or the Britaxhighliner did very well as well.... it WAS on offer in halfords for £39.99 so worth geting their ASAP to see if it still is!

it is suitable to 36kg as well!

I emailed Britax and asked why they were still selling seats that had been found unsafe and they said that they weren't even making them anymore teach me to look at their catalogue b4 i mail in a astrop. They too suggested the Hi_liner so am off to broach DP about soending his money(wish me luck!)

Are they REALLY not making them... you can definitely STILL buy them in mothecare / halfords / toys r us etc etc.... at least you could LAST week!

I would recommend the Britax kid
It scored well on tests when we bought it...and it's been really good. It supports dd's (just turned 3) body and head really well

I've just bought a hiliner for ds1 to replace the britax trio that scored so badly on the tests . I've had to wait a while though as it is only for those weighing over 15kg (which is 2 stone 5 lbs). IMO its really hard to find something that scores well for older children who weigh less than 15kg but are way too big for a second stage forward facing seat.

We have the Jane Indy Plus (isofix0 in both mine and DH's cars. PILs have a non isofix seat - the Britax Hi Liner booster seat, which did very well in the most recent Which report on car seat safety.

MerlinsBeard · 16/02/2006 11:11

sorry i have only just checked back on this

Britax told me that the ranger was due for replacement this year and that as a result theuy have stopped making them and that they are still available in shops that currently have a stock of them

Hi Do you have the jane indy plus isofix, if you do i wonder if you could give me some advise? We have just fitted it in our car and when our daughter leans forward so does the back of the seat is this right?
Thanks
