How to get over a traumatic death?

My great uncle was found dead yesterday morning. There was a fire in his bedroom and he burned to death. I'm finding this fact so horrible to think about. We were hoping they would tell us he died from smoke inhalation, but not so. He has to be identified using dental records. The local press have been bugging us. We told them to go away, so they've gone ahead and done their own story and put it on the front page. Can't help thinking about how he died. Its just so horrible. I'm so up and down. Met a lovely fella saturday night and have been torn between excitement over that and feeling so bad about my uncle.

how horrible, you must still be reeling! I think you just need time, take as much as you need to just chill out as much as you can.... there's no need to feel guilty about having fun either, you met a lovely guy that's great I'm sure your uncle wouldn't want you to throw a potential friendship () away!

I'm really sorry to hear about your uncle. I had a cousin who killed himself by jumping from a tall building. This was in 1991 and it still upsets me to think about his last moments. It's really hard trying to come to terms with something like this on top of the grieving process as well. Try to talk about it if you can. If you feel you can't deal with the full facts though, that is perfectly ok. A friend of mine was found dead in his flat 16 months ago and I still don't know and don't want to know the full details.

Your local press have acted shamefully. I hope they leave you and your family alone now they have their story and let you grieve in peace. I wish you well, take care (and have fun with your new man!) x
