Our local sainsburys and the online bit have to be book quite far in advance to get a decent delevery slot.

So i'm thinking of doing it a week ahead.
But i normally put money into the shopping account on a thursday ready for the shopping comming on a friday (tesco)

So what i want to know is do sainsburys charge you as soon as you place the order or when they pick ir on the day of delievery?

They all charge when it's picked on the day of delivery; they couldn't charge the right amount otherwise.

They do it when the goods are delivered.

Day of delivery - I do this all the time, I do my Sainsburys shop on the Sunday to be delivered on the Tuesday evening. Can usually get that slot then.
