I'm not his Valentine

DS (Y1) came home from school today with a Valentine card he had made, in his book bag. I asked who it was for (thinking it would be for me) and he said "Nenny" his Nanny of 4+ years that left us 18 months ago when he started school.
It's stupid, but I still feel hurt nearly nine hours later. - I wanted his heart this Valentines day.

Perhaps they were told at school that it couldn't be for their mum?

Awww, hes only little, and if i bet his nanny is in his thoughts a lot still after having her around so much for four years! They were probably told to think of someone they need to tell they care very much, and us boring ol' parents are always there, and don't need to be told .
Don't be too hurt.

My dd is 3 and in the phase of telling me she is bored and wants to go and stay with her granparents, and has delight in telling me all the wonderful things they do with her.
