Need an innovative "door" solution

I need a lightweight (ie not wood) concertina door for my tiny loo

I currently have a horrid plastic thing from Argos and it's cr*p

Does anyone have a good idea for replacing this door?

Bifold door, hinged outwards from the loo?

Why does it have to be lightweight?

katymac · 10/02/2006 22:53

So the C/Med children don't trap their fingers in it

Not really enough room for that even if it weren't wood tho'

this is what I have

It's very flimsey
They used to be like that but covered in material (hessian/canvas?) and were much stronger

Very 1060's

You could just use a wooden bifold and us the plastic strip tat stop fingers being trapped, just as much chance of getting fingers trapped in any of your other doors surely.

The space is too narrow for a bifold (tho' that's what I wanted initially)

It's ust the wood folding in two hinge that worries me - it's a door the children use themselves - so it's extra vunerable

You can get rubber / plastic 'hinge trap' covers IYSWIM. They're a rubberised thingy, length of the door, say two inches wide. Kiddies can't then stick fingers in hinge spaces etc.

But I still need a concertina door

There are aluminium ones but they all seem to be huge things for patio doors etc - haven't seen any little neat ones.

I D Systems
1st sliding folding doors

The second one sounds perfect if they will do the size you want. You could ask for a quote anyway.

The second ones seem to be windows

I'll keep looking for this old fashioned cloth covered one
