Am having a bit of a mare with wisdom teeth so am considering using some bonjela. Does it work though? Or a bit of a waste of time?

Nope. Get some teething gel for kids, that works!

i think when i used bonjela on ds that in my head i thought it was working, but to be honest, i dont think it does. at least not for toothpain.

boots do a good (boots brand) teething gel and it works good, as does calgel.

but these days, with ds cutting a molar, i'm not so brave to stick a finger in his mouth!!!

The best thing I have found is Anbesol. Its best in liquid form - just put some on end of your finger or a cotton bud and apply - for (literally) 1 second it hurts like hell, but then it completely numbs the area for a while - you can use it up to 8 times a day and its never failed for me, its good for DS teething too.

I suffer horribly from mouth ulcers on and off and thats the only thing that works.

I'd recommend it to anyone!

I'll go calm down now...

a pharmacist in Boots swore by Ashton Powders (herbal). All chemists have it. It is a powder that you put on a baby's tongue. Sounds tricky but it's not. I think that is good. my dd seems to like it.

I'm with MamaG. Didn't read the thing about 'up to 8 times a day' . I just slop it on as needed (I also get horrid mouth ulcers) and it's wonderful. Get some Anbesol!

another vote for Anbesol over Bonjela here. Works brilliantly for ulcers. Would it help with tooth trouble though - worth a try I guess as it numbs things up nicely.

no
waste of time
anbesol
if really painful then get some of that sore throat spray to give yourself some temp relief
