You may not need a people carrier lovemygirls - we can fit two boosters and a baby seat (same width) into the back of our Mondeo (which we bought off ebay for £250 )

Well a lot depends on age and mileage and of course what type of people carrier you want.

We bought a Zafira last Autumn with only 15,000 miles on the clock and under two years old for £8000 in a private sale if that's any help. You can buy an older model with a higher mileage for much less, but we wanted one with shoulder belts in all the seats and they only came out in late 2003.

My R reg Renault Scenic cost £3k last May. Has 3 x 3 point seatbelts in the back so you could fit 3 seats in. Middle seat is a pain in the bum for strapping in, but it can be done.
Same car would cost about £2.5k now.
A Galaxy / Sharan / Alhambra (same MPV, different badge on the front) of the same age would be around £3 - 4k depending on mileage, condition, petrol/diesel etc.
Friend has Mondeo like Miaou and they're much cheaper than MPVs, and really comfy too. I used to have an estate until it died on me, and it was the comfiest car I've ever owned, with a huuuuuge boot too. Cheaper parts and running costs too.

btw the max ammount of children i can look after is 5 so i could do with 6 seats so that if it all goes well i can offer a place if needed.

if i buy a car it will take up most of my earnings and i wanted to save for a house so my dds wont have to share a bedroom. even if i started saving now it would be a couple of years before i could move. how many 8yr olds want to share with a 2 yr old.

Can you get a business loan to cover the cost?
