lucy5 · 09/02/2006 22:12

It's funny I was thinking this the other day. I like having a bolt hole.

Crystaltips · 09/02/2006 22:13

Glad that I said this ..... but poor MN - just think of all the other posters / subscribers they are being denied

ooops that should be DD ....

DH and DS wouldn't want to mention MN as they think I am hooked ( and secretly nuts )

OP posts:
Flossam · 09/02/2006 22:18

I go nuts at DP if he mentions the name in front of anyone!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 09/02/2006 22:24

i dont like anyone to know either .....

Angeliz · 09/02/2006 22:26

Yes.
I never tell anyone and was quite pissed off when dp told his work mate's girlfreind!

morningpaper · 09/02/2006 22:40

DEFINITELY

If I talk about it I mumble incoherently about internet talk boards

soapbox · 09/02/2006 22:42

I'm more concerned that they'll think I'm a complete and utter loon - posting on a bloody website - whatever next

As for meeting all these odd people in RL - quick get the men in white coats

yep. I wouldn't mind being discovered - don;t post anything truly bad, but on balance would rather not

JoolsToo · 09/02/2006 22:52

nah - doesn't bother me! My friends know me well enough. I've told them about it but they look at me pityingly

harpsichordcarrier · 09/02/2006 23:02

oh god yes
I sat and looked at my antenatal teachers groups and thought mumsnet would be really useful
then I thought
nah

Flossam · 09/02/2006 23:07

SB thats exactly how my friend feels. Her mouth opens slightly when I talk about 'it' in general terms. If she asked me which one I've already decided to say BW!! The first time I told my mum, nervously, that I was meeting some people off the internet, she was really supportive. When I went to the big xmas meet she was a bit more miffed, and I've just kind of mentioned it in passing since.

nightowl · 09/02/2006 23:27

yes! absolutely. silly because i tell them all things anyway but..i dont know actually. maybe i dont want them to see the real me.

flutterbee · 09/02/2006 23:32

My mum knows that I chat away on MN and now refers to it like it's my job, she says things like "so hows that mums internet thing going" always makes me laugh

I have told people to come on board but haven't revealed my name, but wouldn't be too bothered if they found out.

Skribble · 09/02/2006 23:35

Can't tell a soul I talk about the conversations I have here to MIL like I have been talking to real people . I usually mumble about message bords for mums. I don't even have it in my favourites in case DH is being nosey he would guess my password but my nickname comes up if you type the first letter .

nightowl · 09/02/2006 23:38

when my friend uses my pc i always put her on my sons account so she cant see my internet history. she must think im looking at something really dodgy!
