help...............crayon stain on the carpet

hi all mums

ds has left some artistic work(crayons) on our carpet.any advice on getting rid of them will be appreciated especially when we r living in a rental property.

I am sure it has something to do with greaseproof paper and an iron???
Other mumsnetters will be able to give you better advice.

Get a piece of clth... an old dish towel or some thing like that.
Lay it over the stain and Iron it with a COOL iron. The stain should lift onto the cloth.

Try some Carpet Power -by Ozkleen

It's a bit expensive (about £2.80) BUT is the ONLY thing I've found to remove all pen (esp felt tip pens) stains - honest.

The problem with Crayon is that its wax. Better make sure the carpet cleaner can dissolve wax. If it's water-based then it won't work.

Here's what Kim and Aggie say:-

"To get crayon off carpet, scrape off as much as possible with a knife, then put several layers of paper towel over the mark and press lightly with a warm iron. The towel soaks up the waxy residue."
