Tiscali broadband mindnumbingly slow?!

We switched from BT broadband to Tiscali last week and it's just dire - the connection is so rubbish that most pages don't even finish downloading.

Is this a known problem with Tiscali?

I work from home and the connection problems have just cost me a small job.

I think there are locations where it doesn't work very well because a l;ot of people use it it works better where the neighbourhood is unpopular

or in fact neighbourhoods where tiscali is unpopular

I live in the sticks though and have problems during the day - aaargh!!! It's driving me crazy.

Tiscali are the most complained about ISP in the country.
We're on TalkTalk (carphone warehouse) - pretty good!
