HELP! Any tips on getting my dd to drink cows milk as she has been having formula follow on milk but as she is approaching 2 thought better start her on it now. I give it to her in cereal and she is ok about that but wont touch it even if I drink it too! She was having a bottle which I have stopped so maybe thats why she isnt taking from beaker. She likes yogurt and angel delight so getting some calcium but supposed to have a pint a day not likely!

She should be on the breast until she's at least 7! How dare you!

My 23 month old loves his bottle... doesn't like milk in anything else... and the hubby always gives in

Have you tried mixing cows milk with the follow on milk - and then increase the quantity of cows milk until it is all cows milk? I did this with dd who is 16 months - worked a treat. HTH

Try gradually mixing it in with her follow on milk - e.g . 90% follow on and 10% cow's milk - then gradually change the proportions so that its mostly cow's milk and eventually only cow's milk.

this worked for my dd now she loves milk

Thanks for the tips ladies, I think it is more the beaker of milk instead of bottle that she wont take but she doesnt seem to missing it so just putting a lot on her cereal, giving her yoghurt and will try again with a homemade milkshake sees if that works.

Just to let you know from today she has taken a beaker of milkshake this morning and evening so success at last! Thats one hurdle over but plenty more to come such as getting her to eat more veg thats another story.
