i had one as a child - and know that all adults thought they were somehow super and superior, more to the point. i now have one i want to give to my daughter (got it on ebay a while ago). she is almost five but all reasonable logic suggests i should wait a year or too. any thoughts? memories?

My sister had one. Don't know why/who from.

nitfreecod · 05/02/2006 20:37

yes was it like a pippa?

roisin · 05/02/2006 20:37

I had loads; I think they're all in my mum's attic still: She loved them. Tbh I loathed them! But then I wasn't ever much into dolls; every Christmas I got a Sacha doll, and would just sit and envy my brother's chemistry set and Lego Technic!

PennyLess · 05/02/2006 20:40

Weren't pippas teeny?

Evs09 · 05/02/2006 20:42

they can go for £££'s on Ebay. Saw one once not sure what her name was but she had long ginger hair and she reached £1200.

tissy · 05/02/2006 20:43

they can be worth a forune! Only give it to you if you don't mind it being felt-tip penned or scalped!

God how weird, I was just thinking on that thread about WTP & Tigger etc, how the only thing I ever really hankered after was a Sasha doll.

I always wanted one as a child but they were expensive then.

Have looked on e-bay and was staggered by the price!

roisin · 05/02/2006 21:42

I've just looked on Ebay and I'm shocked!
DS1 has the black baby in his bed; at home in my parents' loft there's a blonde baby boy, and a brunette older girl and a blonde boy!

I still don't like them though. What's the appeal?
The only thing I remember as a child was being fascinated because the baby boy had a penis LOL.

Mirage · 05/02/2006 22:13

My friend had the little blonde boy one.It was the first doll I had ever seen that had a penis too!

My mum went in our old toy cupboard & got one of my old baby dolls out for dd1 yesterday.Apparently she saved the lids off Heinz baby food & sent them off for this doll.Did anyone else have one?DD1 is still playing with my Tiny Tears from the early 1970's as well.

mousie · 06/02/2006 14:06

wonder what pippa dolls are going for on ebay - they were tiny and i used to lose them regularly, about two days after buying them usually.
yes sashas very expensive on ebay - my brother cut the hair of mine when i was little so probably couldn't get much for it - but if you have a whole one in your loft - get selling.

I had a blonde boy one (must have been second hand) - was the first penis my sister and I ever saw!
