Fascism = totalitarianism, everything is done for the state.

Naziism is that there is a suprior race

Is that it in a nut shell??

Guess who watched The Pianist lastnight !

I couldn't stay up that late so I recorded it. Is it going to traumatise me?

Tinker · 05/02/2006 17:53

It will SL. Disturbing film

spacedonkey · 05/02/2006 17:54

SL it might traumatise you (thinking of Trainspotting here) - there's a rather nasty scene involving a small child

Tinker · 05/02/2006 17:55

Nazism is really the policies of teh National Socialist party with embraced fascism, amongst other things.

SorenLorensen · 05/02/2006 17:56

I was pregnant when I watched Trainspotting so was particularly sensitive - I feel The Pianist is a film I should see, like Schindler's List (thanks for remembering that though, SD - sweet of you )

We are all ignoring beety's question. Is that because (like me) no one is exactly sure?

SorenLorensen · 05/02/2006 17:57

Did Hitler 'invent' Nazism? God, I'm ignorant.

spacedonkey · 05/02/2006 17:58

It is a brilliant film. Well worth seeing. But inevitably upsetting.

Tinker · 05/02/2006 17:59

I stuck it in google Mrs Moo. The question, that is.

I was also pregnant when seeing Trainspotting. In fact, didn't watch teh end of The Pianist last night but saw it at teh cinema - still feeling shaky today at thought of living under that constant feeling of terror.

"Which embraced" not "with"???

Interestingly Hitler wasn't Nazi Party member No 1, I think he was No 7 but essentialy, yes, The Nazi party was created at Hitler's instigation. The internal poletics of it were quite fluid, with people vying to do 'The Furher's will' as efficiently as possible.
