At least you have zingaretti Gio. I can't stop crying.

MerlinScot · 25/02/2013 20:09

As I had said... Damn I can't burn the passport yet! I am ashamed I was born in Italy today. Cant say more, speechless ;(

Sputnik · 25/02/2013 21:43

Yeah, speechless. Sorry Franca :(
Likely you'll be voting again soon though.

Francagoestohollywood · 25/02/2013 23:13

I don't think I can take it anymore Sad

Rosa · 26/02/2013 08:09

What a complete and utter mess. I am disgusted and to be honest speechless at the amount of people who voted for him....there are a hell of alot of liars in Italy and not just B... Who I wonder if he has done a contract with some theatre make up company to cover the wrinkles.? Veramente despite always joking about it I am embarassed to be even living here. Greece2 here we come and yes as you say you will all be voting in another year.
We seem to be 5* dominated from what I can understand ..anything is better than lega ( lying thieving bastards).

We are at risking of having Maroni presidente della Lombardia. I want to die :-(((

Francagoestohollywood · 26/02/2013 11:57

at risk

MerlinScot · 26/02/2013 14:58

Noooooo Maroni come presidente della Lombardia? Shock

Poor Franca :( Can we do something to cheer you up? Well think that in some places they will have the MS5 representatives and mayors etc etc.

Rosa, I was so embarassed that this morning I harshly replied to another student at the college she shouldn't call me Italian. I'm so angry and furious that I guess the rage is blowing through my nose.

Rosa · 26/02/2013 16:31

Yup I think Maroni is in..... What a mess..

OP posts:
BananaGio · 26/02/2013 17:38

I dont understand! Who are these people who vote for Maroni, for Berlusca etc. Seriously who?? I dont get it.

Francagoestohollywood · 26/02/2013 18:05

Merlin I am not a fan of the movimento 5stelle though! Grin

Maroni is in. I am out.

Rosa · 26/02/2013 18:14

I am a semi fan.. I don't think he is the man to run Italy but he is against the grain he does talk some sense . I does alot of shouting which I can't abide ...However it will be interesting to see what 'difference' he can actually make . gio I am with you on the who voted for Berlusca ... All of mediaset , all of his companies, all of the companies who he has links with or who want to keep him there as it is in their interest..then everybody who thought they were getting IMU back...

OP posts:
MerlinScot · 27/02/2013 08:22

LOL Franca, I was just saying... the lest of two evils ;)

Weeell I think that at least in this thread nobody voted Berlusca, right? So I can say it aloud... every voter choosing B. is an 'emerito imbecille' for me... a flock of idiots buying what he says and thinking he can do something good for them.. it is all down to selfishness and personal profits... these people don't care about the rest and they're deeply disrespectful of all the other Italians suffering unemployment and poverty... I would like to single his voters out and send them together with Berlusca when he retires... Ethnic clearing would be necessary in that case... Just telling them.. well you had your second and third and fourth chance to do some good in life but you chose not... as in Dante's Inferno, locked in a perpetual loop with B. in any of the lowest 'gironi'!!

As regards Grillo.. who knows? Never really liked him recently although I used to... he's too much of a yelling guy to have any appeal in a broader sense.. I guess some of his fans voted him because they were tired about the rest, old dinosaurs not inspiring any trust to voters..

God, I wrote a political essay LOL :D

BananaGio · 27/02/2013 08:54

And goodness knows what he has been doing behind the scenes to buy votes. I am split re 5 star. On the whole I am against them, mainly because i dont trust grillo and I dont like his anti-Europe talk. On the other hand I cant deny that it will be interesting to see what a new influx of young, inexperienced politicians will do. Agree with what you say re Berlusca voters Merlin. I find it so depressing that so much about politics ( and not just in Italy) is about appealing to the lowest common denominator in people. And that so many people respond to that.
Does anyone think that Bersani will manage to do a deal with Grillo?
Franca am gutted for you. Maroni for Gods sake! As you said earlier at least we have Zingaretti.

MerlinScot · 27/02/2013 10:16

Unfortunately I think Bersani will manage to do one...

Pfft what to say BananaGio, it seems that the latest fashion is to trash Europe at any costs in Italy... It really seems like nobody is able to have an independent mind and they can't work out what is going on out of the borders without relying on media, TVs in particular... so if RAI or Canale 5 says Europe is bad and Merkel is the devil then you end up reading tons of comments online about bad Germans and bad French enslaving Italy and bad Europe bringing Italy down. Was Italy financially well off before Europe? I think that many issues came down to employers' avarice... I've seen that a lot in my working days in Italy.. company firing 300 people out of 1000 because they wanted to increase profits... not because they were losing anything..

It is true that it got a lot worse from the Euro coin in 2002 but also because Mr. B. allowed that.. so just blaming Europe for all the financial troubles seems exaggerrated and it also reeks of complete ignorance about the past facts....

I don't know if you feel the same way but what is happening in Italians politics make the majority of Italians appear as they're 'sheep'... Eating, sleeping, in some cases working but devoid of any other reasoning.. whatever they're fed they eat it...

Sputnik · 27/02/2013 10:17

But Franca please don't let it get you down.
Totally agree with you Gio and Merlin.
In the supermarket the other day someone was saying "siamo tutti vassali" which is true but also part of the attitude problem here, people have no sense of participation. Of course it is not much better elsewhere, we are all subjects of politicians, big business etc.

Sputnik · 27/02/2013 10:21

And of course a lot of people like being vassals, under the protection of someone higher up the ladder.
Merlin do you not think anti-Europe sentiment is even worse in the UK?

spaghettina · 27/02/2013 10:32

hello again... just wanted to pop my head up and commiserate with you all, Franca especially - che maroni... :( - can't belieeeeve we've got lumped with that gnome of a man, ugh.
I can't vote in the regional or national elections unfortunately so just had to sit back and watch the tragedy unfold...

Banana - There are plenty of people in Milan and especially outside in the rest of Lombardy who vote for Maroni (and Berlusconi), depressingly, but strangely very few seem to openly admit to it! One of my FB "friends" did (an acquaintance really, very wealthy social-climber, lives in Brianza and runs daddy's company), but I've never heard anyone else of my age saying they've voted PDL or Lega.

I'm so disappointed in Bersani and co. they are just never able to get their act together are they? Too complacent, clearly, and out of touch.
But then again it does beggar belief that a large portion of Italians would vote for the nano malefico yet again, do they never learn?!

Grillo does have some good points but as Rosa and Merlin have said he's too shouty - doesn't seem like a serious alternative, just a maverick who wants to shake things up - as if the country weren't in enough chaos as it is.
Oh dear. Che pasticcio.

Francagoestohollywood · 27/02/2013 12:33

Actually, let me get this straight, in the city of Milan Ambrosoli got the majority of votes and Maroni very little and the PD and the Lista Ambrosoli performed very well. So there! I want now Milan's succession from the rest of Lombardia!

Imho the problem with Grillo is not his loudness (which is mostly embarrassing), but his ideas in the economic area. Have you seen his program? It is not just the anti european stance, it is a series of proposals which are totally out of touch with the current economic situation.
Yes, his proposal about the number of deputati and anti corruption ideas are ok. Have you seen the comments of his fans on his facebook page though? They are scary.

I agree with Spaghettina that PD has - yet again - been out of touch and complacent and has done a poor campagna elettorale, when it could have ripped the popularity of the primarie. On the other hand the PD (imho again) had the best program: just sensible and without promising the moon, as there is no moon to be promised at the moment.

In Lombardia Maroni got elected with the votes that should have gone to Formigoni. The lega nord has lost lots of votes, even in Veneto. But we are having the Expo in 2015, too many interests, some linked to the criminalità organizzata (the giunta of the regione lombardia has been suspended for collusions with the 'ndrangheta). So Maroni, il duro e puro della lega Hmm also got these votes.

I also can't believe that Storace got 29.32% of the votes. Seriously????

spaghettina · 27/02/2013 13:15

Yes Franca, I was looking at the breakdown of votes in Lombardia earlier and it showed that Maroni won majorities in places like Bergamo, Brescia , Lecco, Como (no surprises there then) whereas Ambrosoli had the majority in Milan and much of the province, and in Mantova. I think part of the problem was also that Ambrosoli is not strong enough in terms of media identity, whereas we are all, sadly, familiar with the likes of Maroni and his pals...

Rosa · 27/02/2013 15:19

Even though on the map it looks all blue In Veneto .. In the Regionale and Provincia its M5S in the Comune its Bersanis lot.... Zaia who was lega in the provincia I think was actually quite good pity he had a green foulard.
dh says that behind Grillo is a chap who is very political minded something with a C . I think some of what Grillo says is a bit Berlusconi total impossible crap....but he shouts it and doesn't wear 10 layers of Este Lauder. Some of what he says does make sense - I just don't think that the rest of the world will see it that way. he international press is running a mockery out of it all...

OP posts:
Francagoestohollywood · 27/02/2013 15:43

Well, if you read the economic program of the Movimento5stelle, you can understand why the international press (and anyone who knows a bit of math) is running a mockery out of it.

Francagoestohollywood · 27/02/2013 15:45

Rosa, the PDL got lots of votes in Venteo (how????), but the lega has shrunk consistently, I believe.

Va beh, che sarà saràààààààààààà ... (lets all emigrate somewhere else Grin)

BananaGio · 27/02/2013 16:26

DP has been getting into fb fights with a load of grillo supporters. The whole lets cancel the public debt and sod the euro argument mmmmm. Have just got off the bus after listening to a couple of vecchi, one pro berlusconi and 1 pro bersani have been ripping each other to shreds. Ds piped up with io sono per Bersani at which point the vecchio starts ruffling his hair with lots of bravissimo and the vecchia turned on me for standing too close to the door on the packed bus and blocking her way! And then she heard my accent and i got the straniera di merda glare. Fun.

Francagoestohollywood · 27/02/2013 19:41

lol lol lol Gio! I would love to meet your ds, he sounds so simpatico!!!

I do the same on fb!
