nightmare re case Rosa, any sign of it yet? Didnt realise the GPs were going with you, that must have been lovely. How is your Dad healthwise at the moment?
Hope dd's throat hasnt come to anything and your ear has stopped throbbing

Rosa · 15/02/2013 06:55

Nope how they can mislay a 30kg huge case is beyond me - twas 30kg due to the extra stuff I bought when they lost it outbound!!!! Ear is now itchy guess its starting to 'stick'. Dd still sounds funny will have a look at the tonsils and decide.
The G parents was a surprise for the dds and also mum needed it. dad healthwise seems ok for his age but he is having lots of tests which unsettles him a bit as it is if they are making him think there is something wrong with him...

Ciao ragazze! Rosa, sorry to hear they lost your suitcases, it also happened to me with Iberia!

We have just come back from a lovely week in the mountains, we had gorgeous weather, apart from monday when it snowed and it was about -10 and ds came back from his ski lessons completly frozen! But apart from this, it's been great and the dc loved it.

I am however feeling crap, have really bad sore throat, which I also had last week, but has come back with a vengeance and i also feel very weak. I may need A/Bs? Boh!

Rosa · 16/02/2013 21:50

Franca sounds to me if you have got an infection on what was probably a 'weak' area.....glad you had a good week. DD1 still has inflamed tonsils and we are OKI , propoli and aerosol a ruota along with vitamin c! We still have no suitcase .... I am starting to get a bit Sad as I am thinking about whats in there,.....the dds certificates from the miniclub that they won. the kites they made and also a couple of soft toys that minirosa is very attached to ...not her super favourite ones as they were in the hand luggage....she has yet to remember. I am going past the angry stage now ... Oh and all the receipts and the PIR form from the outbound missed luggage so I can't claim all the costs back.. It gets worse every time I think about it to be honest ...iberia don't care and have asked me to 'fax' a list of some of the contents so if the tag has come off ' yeah right how easy is it for the tag to come off' so they can break the lock on the case and look inside...- this is the standard policy.

Francagoestohollywood · 17/02/2013 20:59

Oh, that's upsetting re the bag, I would hate it to loose my stuff.

Hope your dd recovers soon from sore throat. This morning I queued for 2.5 hrs at the guardia medica and was given amoxicyllin... To reward myself I thn went to piazza duomo to hear Bersani Grin!

btw... Happy birthday Rosa! Wine [ smile]

MerlinScot · 18/02/2013 19:42

Happy B'day Rosa!!

Shame about your suitcase, but I flew only once with Iberia (to go to a wedding in Spain) and swore 'never again'.. they lost my suitcase in the inbound flight and in the outbound flight.. they could shut down for me... Angry
I hope they will be able to find your suitcase as soon as possible and also hope you're getting better.....

Franca, I hope you feel better too.

Francagoestohollywood · 19/02/2013 12:13

A bit better, yes, thank you :-)

But have been stuck at home for 2 days now, getting bored!

Rosa · 19/02/2013 15:00

Getting bored - you must be getting better !! DD is on antibiotics now and going back to school domani. Even though her tonsils are still up she is fine in herself.
Still no case and now they are on strike for 5 days so won't see it in the forseeable future I think. I faxed the paper to them ( honestly) it cost me ?2.50 as well !
Temp due to change in next few days ...I thought spring was on the way as well as its been beautiful !

Francagoestohollywood · 19/02/2013 16:49

Povera rosa! I'd be very, very angry.

Why do you think our LI thread doesn't appear on my Threads I'm on page? Boh..

Yes, more snow and polar temperatures are expected by the end of the week. Today was sooo gorgeous. I am wasting time on the net daydreaming of possible breaks, I would like to go to Chioggia or Umbria... Where do you dream of going when you have time to daydream?

MerlinScot · 19/02/2013 19:32

Maldives?? hahaha Franca, it was sunny and warmer even up here (incredible chance? maybe the only sunny days we'll get until next year?!?! :/ )

I remember that the Iberia customer service was like the company, awful!! Stay strong Rosa.. I received my suitcase ten days later at home, delivered by UPS.... maybe because it was an old suitcase though :(

Franca, I always bookmark the last page of the thread because if you don't post for a few days it disappears from the 'Im On threads' section...

Sputnik · 19/02/2013 22:06

Honestly the Western Isles of Scotland are a dream destination for me, but only in good weather! Shame it's so unpredictable. Other than that I'd love to do one of those rainforest canopy walkway things, and stay in a luxury treehouse.
Happy (late) birthday Rosa, bummer about your case.

Rosa · 20/02/2013 12:51

Oh my dreams are pretty endless.... Driving through New Zealand, snorkelling off the great barrier reef. Just travelling really ( but not Iberia). I would love to go south in Italy but dh is not so keen. i want to go to Vienna at Christmas and Prague in the spring. Also Hawaii appeals to me but seems a right pig to get to! But the next big holiday I have decided is Florida with the dds..... Dh has no knowledge of this but I am signing up for offers etc . Think I would like to do Orlando and Sanibel.... Mind you the agenzia del entrate might have other ideas. I want to take them to Disney whilst one of them is still in love with the Disney princesses etc! DD1 1st pagelle today ... I have bought her a times table game as a present if its good ...( i don't think it will be that bad)

Rosa · 20/02/2013 12:51

Oh and if its going to snow the temps really have to drop its still far too warm. They have salted all the bridges - bloody dangerous as the salt is slippy on the stone!!!!

OP posts:
Francagoestohollywood · 20/02/2013 16:18

Ooooh, buona pagella Rosa! Smile

I would love to sleep in one of those luxury tree house! I also saw a place in Canada, where basically they come and pick you up and whisk you by a lake, it's like a luxury camping site, with wonderful views and lots of walks/water sports and outdoorsy kind of things, lovely food etc... then I looked at the price and Shock!

I would also like to go to Malaysia, Japan, California and Argentina. We are taking the dc to Paris for a week in July as dh has a conference!!! I am quite excited by this.

Rosa · 20/02/2013 17:12

Oh yes Canada... When I was about 13 we went to Canada and drove up one valley and down another. My best memory was East Barrierre Lake where we stayed in a log cabin and fished, swam and had camp fires....It was fantastic .
Pagella was good all the bimbi got 8 in everything but the paragraph at the end was excellent I am very pleased with her !!!!! the next one gives the yearly votes.teacher ( bless) is concerned about dd1 tonsils as she is still speaking funny. They have IMO gone down a bit but not lots.....

awww Rosa, must post the link of the video on youtube I took while in NZ... Where is Sanibel in Florida? I've been in a few places there (my passion was to go to Cape Canaveral, went everywhere but not there :( ) but I never heard of Sanibel.......
I have a friend in Hawaii so I hope to go there too, sooner or later...

Franca, Canada would be my husband's dream... Now, honestly.. I would go to Maldives or Seychelles or Mauritius... after years of cold and more cold and more cold, I am just sun-sick... I want to visit a warm place :)

Francagoestohollywood · 21/02/2013 15:05

Smile well done rosa's dd1!

Sanibel is a small island 45 mins drive from Naples in Florida. It is stunning, and it is not spoiled by huge buildings like the rest of the area seems to be. Cape Canaveral is good fun! (we went to florida for 10 days in June).

Merlin, I totally sympathise, when we lived in the UK all I wanted was sunshine and scorching heat, but I can now contemplate colder weathers!

MerlinScot · 21/02/2013 22:32

Franca, at this moment I would take the whole of Florida, no probs!
I lived there one year but only went through Naples a couple of times. I was living near Fort Lauderdale...

Outside it is minus one now.. sniff sniff Sad

Rosa · 22/02/2013 12:18

We only got a bit if snow but lots of wind!!! Today is cold. I would go anywhere that would involve no hassle... So guess staying at home then! Dd1 at home for 4 days this weekend now due to the elections. Dh said shall we go somewhere? I said that he has to vote ...He actually looked quite shocked !!!

OP posts:
Francagoestohollywood · 22/02/2013 12:29

Oh, I can't wait to vote!!!

Freezing here too, it says 1C. Snowing, but it doesn't stick. We are staying put, as the weather is crap and dh is working.
The idea of going out at all fills me with dread, today I went to the nursery where I volunteer one a week and came back home with my hands completely frozen, despite wearing gloves.

Sputnik · 22/02/2013 22:26

Rosa my sister is currently driving and cycling round New Zealand, not the first time either. Being childfree and single has its advantages!
When I was 10 we lived in Canada for a while, in British Colombia. We'd go hiking at the weekends, sleep in cabins in the woods or camp, I have great memories of that. Vancouver is fabulous, I'd like to go back some time.

Rosa · 23/02/2013 12:39

I know we flew in and out of Vancouver but I honestly don't remember it. I do remember lots of bits it was a good holiday!!! i drove round most of New Zealand but missed off the bottom bit as ran out of time...Have to go back.
Minirosa has a 'festa di amiciziat Macdonalds this pm. Held by the Jeohovahs witness ... They don't want presents but will accept any... i am a bit (hmm) about it all to be honest.
