Thanks for the wine , I have hidden the last bottle of Montepulciano and intend on consuming in times of despair. MIL has gone to shop for the dds - dh has taken her. I gave a list of 4 things each that the dds wanted with various price tags - have already had 3 phone calls. Dh has had enough ! I go tom with SIL for the rest .
Yes its busy when you have visitors but its hard when you don't know when you will see them again , my mum is stressed I just want to help more, but I can't !

I have to try and do my CV as I am applying for a letterato ( or is it oto) and it has to be in by 5pm and DH is not here to check it ..Fingers crossed!

Rosa, I won't spend my Xmas with mum this year because I moved up north in the summer and during the winter it is impossible to face such a trip!! So I guess that until I move to another place, there won't be any Christmases with mum again :( This year we'll spend it together with my parents-in-law.

Letterato is a short contract in a school for conversational english thing is I don't have a laurea ( only in pazienza ). I sent a Cv but it wasn't that impressive!
merlin I don't blame you not wanting to travel.....we went through snow, wind, ice rain 2 years ago and we were delayed 2 days leaving and then we were diverted... DH said mai piu... But last year we stayed here and all was calmo!

I've no idea why some Italians enjoy the fact of being part of a third world country... I don't see any shred of democracy in Berlusconi's government. I guess the Mussolini-nostaligics are more than I ever imagined!!

Gio exactly but what worries me is the hundreds of grannies who think he is a nice smile chap and 'dai' he can't be that bad really ? I honestly don't know of anybody who confessed to voting for him.
I agree re the reputation Monti seems respected for what he has done and also for the kind of person he projects homself as ( Just don't mention all the motions he has done to safeguard the banks though .....)
Uk us ...not an idea probably next June. Am very jealous that you are there now with the build up to Xmas sorry about ds though , hope he gets better soon and you can enjoy all the magic. I am finding it so hard just to get enthusiasm for putting the decs up.. Plus I found that my stash of xmas films has vanished... So been on Amazon and ordered £25 worth ....

Ciao ragazze, I have been in a foul mood since B. has announced he is back. I knew it, I knew he'd resurface as soon as the primarie were over. Bastard! I just get this terrible sense of claustrophobia, baaaah!

We haven't put the dec up yet, but today I went to Rinascente and bought some new palline, as they were all 50% off. Tonight we'll decorate the tree. I wanted to get a new one, I fancy those with fake snow... (what, kitsch moi? ), but maybe next year.

Btw, I have already told dh that if B gets voted back again, I want him to accept the first job abroad, even if it's in Arkansas

Franca I said to dh that if he gets in then we are selling up and getting out... Plus I will probably insult every Italian I know as someone is lying ...If they all said they diddn't vote for him somebody must have done !

Franca, I'm in a foul mood and I don't even live in Italy anymore...but my family is still there though and can't stand they suffer more than they already do!! Whoever votes him is someone without a conscience!!

Plus B. is the main reason why I'm ashamed to have ever been an Italian... I've been in an argument with the consulate since I arrived to Scotland.... To keep the documents 'alive' costs hundreds of euros... I'm at the point that I could get arrested because I don't want to comply with the stupid laws anymore... and if you want to know when all this rubbish nonsense for the Italians abroad started... well there's B. behind it!! (like the idiotic idea of creating AIRE!! Are we criminals that we're forced to update the register or we end up prosecuted???)

Oh well done little Francas thats really good. Glad DD has made progress as I recall she was still a bit unsettled. We had dd1 coloquio with ner teachers yesterday and that was positive as well...her only defects are being a bit disorganised with her peorsonal space, so as home and a bit of a chatterer so thats normal as well!!!!!

Franca I bought the stuff to make the wreath but normally I do the inital bit outside to avoid too much mess but no way its too cold ..so will put down loads of paper tom and try to make a start. Started wrapping gifts and ran out of paper.... So not really making any headway. God its cold but they say rain domani so it must be warmer if its going to rain as it would be snow if it came down now.....
