Sorry- no idea where to direct this, so asking for pointers- anyone on MN located in Vancouver, or from Vancouver?
Anyone located in BC know if there is there an equivalent to MN I could turn to with questions about local schools in West Van?
Anyone in Vancouver who has relocated from the UK with small children (Kindergarten entry in Sept 2012 and a 3 yr old).

After years of prep, finally getting visas and in 2010 our PR cards, we're planning the move for July this year. It's getting to the Holy Cow, it's really happening stage, and I'm trying to avoid getting into massive flap about it all.

Thanks anyone who can help point me in right direction on the above.

You could try the Canada 2012 thread in 'living overseas', or just log onto britishexpats Canada forum and read to your heart's content. Literally gazillions.

You're cutting it short if you got PR in 2010! Just squeezing in your 3 years before you lose it!!

Can't help as we're in Alberta. Def some BC mners though.

Are you sure dc makes the age cut off for kindergarten? There is usually angst about later school start age with Brits and having to pay for an extra year of child care?...

Thanks madwoman- been over to the Canada 2012 thread and had a good read, didn't notice there was a 'living overseas' topic. Btw enjoy your Easter trip- hope the weather holds out for you- it's fab at the moment.

Hi there. We are relocating to Vancouver from London with two kids (10, 13). My husband is English Canadian, has been there for last year. We did all our school touring and exams last year. Lived in Vancouver in 1994-2001, so can give you few words of advice on area/schools. If you are in London/south west London/ can meet for coffee. Please wtite privately. In short I would recommend you to look at fraser institure ranking of BC schools. There is a general info on every school there. The best schools in general are on the North Shore (West and North Vancouver), hence the house prices. Hope to hear from you.
