Has anyone relocated to another part of the country ie Dorset, Devon or another country realised its a lot harder than you thought it was and gone back to whence you came?? Did you manage to get back the life you had? I have recently relocated to Dorset and although I love it and am making friends etc I feel like life is a lot harder than I thought it would be and I keep looking at houses where I used to live. I am commuting to London as work is very hard to come by. My DH is also commutting to London we are enjoying our days off with the DD and DS who really love it where we are but not sure. Should I give it a bit longer have been here a few months. What we have saved in mortgage payments etc we are paying out in travel which I knew, had weighed up all the pros and cons before doing it but still keep thinking should we go back, is it shameful to scuttle back.

You need to give it longer. Sorry but it's one of the stage of relocation, I know that link is about relocating overseas, but the same is true of moving within the UK.
If you give it longer you will know if this is just a blip or a long term mistake.

Thanks mummytime, my head is all over the place as the move has not turned out as thought it would. I keep feeling I have made a big mistake, how long is recommended for giving it? I will look up the link. Off to do the school run.
