I can't. Have had ample lessons and failed 3 tests. This was over 4 years ago, just booked lessons again. First one on Saturday afternoon, eek. Would rathe put sticks in my eyes, but everyone tells me my life will be so much easier.

Wish me luck.......

TambaTheTemptress · 31/01/2006 14:49

Me, I would like to start taking lessons when we can afford it though

lucy5 · 31/01/2006 14:50

me

Nbg · 31/01/2006 14:50

Good luck Northener.

I must get my test passed before I have this baby but I just cannot be bothered with the theory test at all.

WigWamBam · 31/01/2006 14:50

I can but don't - I lost my nerve for a number of reasons and haven't driven for about 5 - 6 years now. Everyone who tells you that life would be so much easier is probably right in a lot of ways - I really ought to book some refresher lessons but the thought scares me rigid.

WigWamBam · 31/01/2006 14:50

And good luck, btw - I'm sure you'll be fine once you get started again.

oliveoil · 31/01/2006 14:50

AHA! I started a thread looking for you earlier.

AND I have just done a driving thread.

Spooky!!!!

NomDePlume · 31/01/2006 14:52

Good luck to those working towards their tests . It makes all the difference and it is SO worth all the stress and humiliation (I always felt hugely embarrassed at being a learner driver) in the end.

northerner · 31/01/2006 14:54

You started a thread looking for me?

Me. Best of British northerner!

fuzzywuzzy · 31/01/2006 14:56

me, though have never had lessons.

expatinscotland · 31/01/2006 14:57

My husband failed 3 tests as a teen and put aside driving till he was 23. Then he passed pretty shortly after he resumed!

I made sure I passed before my US license was no longer valid (one year after I got here) b/c I love to drive.

This could be the time, northerner, good luck!!!

lanismum · 31/01/2006 15:31

i cant drive, i did an extensive course of driving lessons when i was about 21, and gave up before the test, i hated it. im now 26 and would love to drive, may do some lessons later this year, but will have to do my theory test again as its expired. only plus point of being a non driver is that you dont have to worry about not being able to drink

motherinferior · 31/01/2006 15:32

If I can pass, anyone can. Good luck!

MerlinsBeard · 31/01/2006 15:32

i can't drive but can't afford to learn tho either

fastasleep · 31/01/2006 15:32

Me! Only 18 though and have been too busy popping sprogs since 16.... great excuse!

Hubby doesn't and he's 30... lazy!

Trophywife · 31/01/2006 15:34

tarantula · 31/01/2006 15:40

Me! Am 35 and have never learnt. Should get round to it but have no money to learn and no money to run a car if I did. Have a really really cool bike instead.

Good luck with learning.

Pixel · 31/01/2006 15:50

My Dh can't drive which is really annoying for me. I'd love a turn at just staring at the scenery!

He ran various London pubs for a long time including 8 years in one right on Richmond Bridge so he never had anywhere to put a car.

Now of course it's just laziness

muma3 · 31/01/2006 15:52

just been talking about this with a friend. i am desperate o drive . 3 dd's and i have to find dd1 a new school . dp drives but he is at work all day so i am always stuck at home.
thinking of doing a crash course for £400 and be done with it but just havent got the monet at the moment.

Mercy · 31/01/2006 15:58

Me. Had a few lessons about 20 years ago but living in London there didn't seem any need to drive. Different story now I have two children - but am far to scared to learn now. Dh has been driving since he was 15!

Blackduck · 31/01/2006 16:09

I can't...
Took lessons four years agon - failed - let it go...
Took intensive course last Sept - failed.
